LedgerDrop

Terms of use

Last updated: 10 September 2026

What this is

LedgerDrop is a free tool that reads a bank statement PDF in your browser and writes a CSV file. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.

No guarantee of accuracy — check the output

LedgerDrop is not an accounting product and its output is not verified financial data. It works out where the columns are from the way the text is laid out on the page. Statements vary, banks change their layouts, and a document that looks ordinary can be read incorrectly. Amounts, dates, signs, running balances and check numbers may be wrong, and rows may be missing or duplicated.

The balance check on the results page is a strong signal, not a guarantee: it compares what was extracted against the opening and closing balances printed on the statement. It cannot tell you anything when a statement does not print both, and there are errors it will not catch — for example two mistakes that cancel out, or a description attached to the wrong row.

Before you use the CSV for bookkeeping, a tax return, a loan application, or anything else that matters, check it against the statement itself. You, not LedgerDrop, are responsible for the accuracy of your own records and filings.

Not advice

Nothing here is accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. If you need advice, talk to a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

Your files

Your statement is read in your browser and is not transmitted to us — see Privacy. Because we never receive it, we cannot recover, resend or delete a file for you, and we have no record of what you converted. Keep your own copies.

Provided "as is"

LedgerDrop is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will work with any particular bank or document.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tekiba and the operators of LedgerDrop are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this tool — including lost or incorrect financial records, misfiled returns, penalties, interest, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss — even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the tool, which for this free version is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; the rest still does.

Acceptable use

Use LedgerDrop only on documents you are entitled to process. Do not use it to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to attack or overload the site. Do not present it as your own product or imply that we endorse yours.

Third-party components

The PDF text is read with pdf.js, distributed under the Apache License 2.0; the licence text ships with the site at /assets/vendor/pdf.js-LICENSE.txt. Bank names that appear anywhere on this site are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe what the tool reads. LedgerDrop is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank or financial institution.

Paid version

A paid version is planned. It is not on sale, nothing on this site takes payment, and no offer to sell is made here. Terms for it will be published before it is available.

Changes and contact

These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use the tool means accepting the new version. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
